I found a new way to ignore files in git that doesn’t require a .gitignore file in the repository. If you look inside

exclude. Edit this file like you would a
Now your repository will not have the
.gitignore file! I found this handy working with a subversion repository. I didn’t want to add a git-related file to the repo.
